Saundra “Saundie” Roethel (photo at right) serves as the Office Manager of BSBI. In that role, she is responsible for facility maintenance and scheduling, and ensures efficient office operations. Saundie is also responsible for BSBI calendar event scheduling and the processing of donations. She joined BSBI in 1993. Saundie has a degree in data processing and is certified in computer programming. She previously was employed by Pratt and Whitney’s Customer Training Center as their desktop publisher and computer administrator. Saundie has raised, bred, and shown Vizslas (Hungarian hunting dogs) for over 20 years.


Jeanne Intro Picture

Jeanne Lowrey (photo at right) serves as Program Administrator, and she generally works on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday focusing on market­ing, membership, pro­grams and fundraising. She joined BSBI in 2015. Jeanne graduated with Honors from Smith College, where she studied American Studies and Archives, writing a thesis about Jewishness on the television show Glee. Her passion lies in accessibility of public history, particularly Jewish history and culture. Jeanne also works as the archivist at the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Library Science with a focus on Archival Management online through Simmons College.
