Join us for a Tikun L’el Shavuot – a night of study in honor of the holiday of Shavuot, which celebrates the giving of the Torah at Sinai. Just as our ancestors waited for redemption on the eve of Passover, we prepare for revelation through the study of Torah. Previous generations would study all night in anticipation of receiving the Torah. Our community is doing something a bit more modest, some special classes with the themes of Shavuot in mind.
On Tuesday night, May 30th, beginning at 6 pm, we will have a dairy dinner followed by a Yom Tov service and two classes: on Torah and on The Book of Ruth. We will also provide dessert. Dinner will be $10 per person. The service and the study are free, though we request that you register so we may get a sense of about how many people to expect. Join us as we study in honor of God, the People of Israel and the Gift of Torah.
Please RSVP by May 25th by contacting Dawn Steigelfest at 860-659-4029, then send your check (made out to BSBI) to her at 26 Tamarac Drive, Glastonbury, CT 06033, or bring it with you to the dinner (before the start of the service). You may also sign up online at the bottom of this page. If you are planning to come for the dinner and study session, please select both options below.
