Gift Wrapping at the Mall Fundraising Opportunity Sunday, December 8th 12:00-7:00 PM
We have an enjoyable and profitable way to help the synagogue and it won’t cost us a dime. Buckland Mall is allowing us to gift wrap for two days before Christmas—Sunday, December 8 and Sunday, December 15th. They are supplying the materials and all we have to supply are the volunteers to wrap packages and staff the intake desk. We will be able to ask for donations to our non-profit cause, while providing a valuable service to harried shoppers. Some of you have done this in year’s past, and know how much fun this can be. Each day will have three shifts: 12:00 – 2:00, 2:00-4:00 and 4:00 – 7:00. No experience is necessary and training can be provided. All shifts are now available, but right now we are most in need of staff on December 8th.
We need your help to make this a success. We would very much like to be able to do this in future years and ensure a continual fundraiser.
To sign up, or for further information, please contact Bea Brodie at 860 646-5014 or olderndrt@cox.net

Dedicate Our New Prayer Books
We have now made the switch to the new Siddur Lev Shalem! Similar to the Machzor Lev Shalem we use on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, Siddur Lev Shalem includes informational side notes and extra readings on each page to help everyone get more out of Shabbat Tephillot (prayer). Thanks to the generosity of Risa and Roy Filkoff, we are able to provide the new siddur to everyone who comes to our services looking for inspiration.
We are now offering opportunities to dedicate these siddurim in honor of people or events in our lives or in memory of loved ones. A siddur can be dedicated for just $50 a book. We hope that everyone will participate in making these new siddurim an important addition to our services and a record of all the good people and good moments in our lives. If you would like to see a copy of the new Siddur, they are available for inspection at the synagogue.

Donors say it is a satisfying way to make a larger donation than they normally could. Other vehicles accepted by this program include: unwanted car, truck, boat, motorcycle, RV or recreational vehicles.
