“Pirates of the Mediterranean” is a staged reading. The script was written by Rabbi Daniel with help from his 5th grade music teacher Ellen Garfield (z’l), and another experienced theater aficionados.
The plot centers on the prophet Jonah who, while running away from God, accidently boards a pirate ship rather than a merchant ship (as recorded in the Bible) and goes on an ocean adventure, helping a band of Pirates track down keys to buried treasure. Complete with pirate slang, pranks, and shanties, this show tells the tale of pirates who, with Jonah’s help, learn the value of cooperation, piety, and harmony among people.
All are invited to be part of the play and witness the drama, for if pirates can do teshuvah, so can you! A light lunch will be provided for rehearsals; please register!
