Israel Solidarity
Israel Solidarity
Beth Sholom B’nai Israel strongly supports the State of Israel and encourages our members to visit, learn and support it as well. We have a long history of putting that commitment into action, including:
Congregational Trips
Our congregation has taken 14 trips to Israel, exploring popular attractions as well as sites that are off the beaten path. Attendees have visited schools, patronized programs that support the elderly and spoken to generals. We’ve celebrated b’nai mitzvah, weddings, memorials, and more. Often, we’ve been able to provide subsidies for the youth attendees.
Scholarships
BSBI provides generous scholarships for our young members to visit Israel. Our teens and college-aged members have taken summer, spring-break, semester and year-long trips through USY, JNF, Young Judaea, BBYO, and other organizations.
Holidays and Events
BSBI regularly celebrates Israel Independence Day (Yom Ha’atzmaut) and creates programs that feature speakers about Israel. In addition, we publicize and encourage members to take advantage of other Israel-oriented events in the area.
